Detoxification involves using all available resources for body healing and regeneration. Every now and then, use the following, simple 24- hour plan to give your digestive system a rest and to help your body to rid itself of accumulated toxins. Choose a day when you can be sure of peace and quiet, and have a comfortable, warm environment in which you can sleep as much as you wish.
The day before starting your detox, cut out all stimulants (tea, coffee, chocolate, tobacco, alcohol and so on), sugar (sweets, cakes, fizzy drinks), meat and dairy products and processed foods.
On the day, follow the menu plan as shown opposite. Take as much as rest as you can, keep warm and drink pure water, little and often. Spend some time outside in the fresh air, but keep any activities gentle.
After your 24-hour detox, stay off stimulants and do not eat processed foods for a week. Take stock of your diet and listen to your body, it knows instinctively which foods are good for you and which are not.
